Audubon’s Free Student Activity Ticket Program Returns for Year Two After Strong First-Year Impact

Audubon Community Schools is proud to announce the continuation of its free K-12 student activity ticket program for the 2025-2026 school year, thanks to the renewed support of AMVC, Audubon State Bank, and Dr. Daryl and Nancy Olsen.

Launched in August 2024, this three-year initiative provides every Audubon student from Kindergarten through 12th grade with free admission to all school activities. In the program’s first year, students attended approximately 3,000 events, all at no cost.

“This program has been an incredible win for our students and our community,” said Athletic Director Sean Birks. “In just one year, hundreds of students and their families have been able to participate in school events more frequently. The support and energy our athletes feel from their classmates in the stands is unmatched. We’re grateful to our donors for making that possible.”

The program has also made school events more accessible to families throughout the district. By removing ticket costs for students, more parents and siblings have been able to attend together, making school activities a shared family experience and strengthening community connections.

The donors, Dr. Daryl and Nancy Olsen, AMVC, and Audubon State Bank,  have each confirmed their commitment to funding the program for year two, continuing a $45,000 pledge over the course of three years. The district’s new electronic ticketing system, Bound, allows accurate tracking of student attendance and will help guide the school board in evaluating the initiative at the end of its three-year commitment.

“We are thrilled to see this program return for another year,” said School Board Vice President Anne Miller. “It’s bringing our community together in ways that benefit students, families, and our school spirit. We appreciate the impact it has on our community.”

Free student activity tickets for the 2025-2026 school year will be issued at the start of the school year. Students in grades 4 and below must be accompanied by a caring adult, and all students are expected to follow school conduct guidelines when attending events.
