Audubon Community Schools Superintendent Position
With the announced retirement of their current Superintendent, the Audubon Community School Board is seeking qualified applicants to fill their top position starting with the 2019 - 2020 school year. The board will be conducting their own search to fill this position so interested and qualified candidates should submit their materials either online through Teach Iowa or by contacting retiring Superintendent Brett Gibbs at:

For the past three years the Superintendent position has been shared between the Audubon Community School and Coon Rapids-Bayard Community School on a 60/40 basis with Audubon holding the contract. At the current time the plan is to continue with this sharing arrangement between the two districts. At this time there are no plans between the districts for merger or whole grade sharing. The Audubon Community School is located in Audubon, IA located halfway between Des Moines and Omaha just north of I-80 in southwest Iowa. Audubon Community School has an enrollment of 530 students in grades PK - 12 housed in two building sites located in the community of Audubon. The Coon Rapids-Bayard Community School is located in Coon Rapids, IA and is located approximately 25 miles northeast of Audubon. Currently, the CR-B Community School has 430 students in grades PK - 12 housed in one building site.
The Audubon School Board will be accepting applications through Friday, November 16th with interviews to be conducted in late November, early December with a final decision being made in conjunction with the December Board meeting. Salary is dependent upon experience and the continuation of the sharing agreement between the two districts. Full family benefits and state and national dues are provided along with a vehicle to travel between school buildings and the two districts. • Transcripts related to Superintendent Licensure
• References (minimum of five including at least one from current employer. References will be contacted as part of the process to determine finalist to interview)
